    Disclaimer

    Posted:

In Eventbuizz, a disclaimer is a statement included within an event’s documentation or website to limit legal responsibility and clarify the terms under which information is provided. It usually serves to inform attendees or users about the limitations of liability for the organizers, especially regarding the accuracy of information, potential risks, or any unexpected changes in the event.

For example, a disclaimer might state that the event organizers are not responsible for any injuries that may occur during the event or that the schedule is subject to change without notice. This protects the organizers from legal claims that might arise due to unforeseen circumstances or the use of the information provided before they finalize their registration and/or when they log on to the web app, then you can set it up in the platform.

You can insert your conditions here:

A “Disclaimer Policy” link usually directs users to a page that outlines the disclaimer policy of a website, application, or service. you can add this link on payment gateways, information pages, event info section or at many other places.

Adjust the settings for the Disclaimer – where should the attendee need to confirm?

There are two places where disclaimer settings are available in Eventbuizz:

    1. Disclaimer Module Setting – This applies to the entire web app.
    2. Form-Based Disclaimer Setting – This applies to individual forms.

    How settings works:

    1. Disclaimer Module Setting (Web App Level)

      • This setting controls whether a disclaimer is displayed on the web app.
      • If enabled (ON), the disclaimer will be shown across the web app, affecting all users.

    2. Form-Based Disclaimer Setting (Form Level)

      • This setting is specific to each form (e.g., Attendee Form, Sponsor Form).
      • If enabled (ON) for a form, the disclaimer will only appear in that form.
      • If disabled (OFF), the disclaimer will not be shown for that form.

    Example Scenario:

    • Suppose there are two forms: Attendee Form and Sponsor Form.
    • If the Attendee Form has the disclaimer setting ON, the disclaimer will be shown when attendees fill out the form.
    • If the Sponsor Form has the disclaimer setting OFF, the disclaimer will not appear in the sponsor form.

Display at mobile site/ web app

    • When Enabled (ON):

      • The disclaimer will be visible on web app.
      • Users accessing eventbuizz from the web app will see the disclaimer in relevant areas (such as login).
    • When Disabled (OFF):

      • The disclaimer will not be displayed on the mobile site or web app.
      • Users may still see the disclaimer on other platforms (like registration flow, eventsite at login) but not on web app interfaces.

How disclaimer updates work in eventbuizz

Whenever there is a change in the disclaimer, the updated disclaimer will immediately appear on the web app.

    How it works:

    1. If any changes are made to the disclaimer text, users will see the new disclaimer the next time they access the web app.
    2. Users will be required to accept the updated disclaimer before they can continue using the platform.
    3. Until the user accepts the new disclaimer, they may not be able to proceed with certain actions (like registration or profile updates).

    Attendee disclaimer log

An “Attendee Disclaimer Log” typically refers to a record or log that tracks when and how event attendees have acknowledged or agreed to a disclaimer. This log might include details like the date and time the disclaimer was accepted, the specific content of the disclaimer, and the identity of the attendee who agreed to it.

The purpose of maintaining such a log is to have a documented record that can be used for legal protection or to resolve any disputes that might arise later regarding what the attendee was informed about or agreed to before participating in the event.

You can also save all disclaimer logs in .csv file just by clicking on the export button.
